About Us

Ascension is open to supporting all clients but, we have a passion for supporting neurodivergent clients with their mental health. This means we take a neuroaffirming approach to our therapeutic services. Neurodivergence refers to natural differences in how brains work. It includes ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other conditions that affect thinking, learning, and experiencing the world. While these differences come with unique strengths, they can also bring challenges—especially in a society built around neurotypical expectations. Many neurodivergent people face anxiety, depression, and burnout from constantly adapting to a world that misunderstands them.

Our Working Process

Intake Process

You meet with the psychologist usually via telehealth to discuss presenting concerns. The Psychologist will then gather developmental history to inform what assessment

Assessment Phase

The assessment sessions are conducted. Cognitive, Educational, ADHD and Autism assessments typically take an additional two to four sessions to complete.

Report Writing Phase

On completion of the assessment a detailed report will be compiled outlining background and medical information, clinical observations throughout the assessment,

Feedback Phase

The feedback session typically occurs via telehealth and the psychologist will explain the results of the assessment and communicate what they mean. The client will then email an electronic copy of the assessment report.

Our Services And Pricing

Ascension’s rates are lower than the APS recommended rate of $300 per 45 – 60 minutes.

For Counselling, your Medicare Rebate will cover $98.95 of our fee.

Supervision rates are typically $190

Our Gaming Group is offered at $60.

1. Who do you usually work with?

We support a wide range of people — from adults and teens to families. Many of our clients are neurodivergent (ADHD, Autism), from South Asian or Sri Lankan backgrounds, or simply looking for help with things like anxiety, low mood, trauma, relationships, or finding their identity.

2. Do I need a referral to see you?

Not at all. You can book in directly. But if you’d like to claim a Medicare rebate, you’ll just need a referral and a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP.

3. What kind of assessments do you offer?

We provide assessments for ADHD, Autism, learning difficulties, cognitive functioning, and general mental health. Every assessment includes a thorough interview, questionnaires, scoring, and a feedback session where we talk through the results and next steps together.

4. Can I see you online?

Yes, absolutely. If it’s easier, you can connect with us through secure telehealth sessions from the comfort of your own home, anywhere in Australia.

5. How much does it cost, and can I claim rebates?

Fees vary depending on which psychologist you see. Medicare rebates are available if you have a Mental Health Care Plan, and some private health funds also provide rebates. For full details, you can check out our Fees & Rebates page.
