Hey there! Our team of psychologists really gets into the nitty-gritty of emotional, cognitive, social, and behavioral aspects for everyone we work with. We’re all about staying on top of the latest research to make sure our tests are spot-on and reliable. What makes us stand out is how detailed and thorough our assessment reports are—we give you some really valuable insights and recommendations.
Our fees reflect the time and effort we put into crafting these 10-15 page reports. This includes chatting with teachers and tutors, reviewing past reports, covering testing materials, and drawing on our psychologists’ deep expertise in learning assessments.
At Ascension, we don’t just give you scores. We take pride in explaining the results clearly and offering detailed recommendations tailored just for you. Plus, all our assessments are ‘neuroaffirmative.’ We see neurodiversity as a normal spectrum of differences, viewing “non-neurotypical” behaviors as variations, not problems. We believe success for neurodiverse individuals comes from providing the right support for these differences.
Our reports may assist with gaining NDIS Funding, Disability Support Pension, VCAA Special Provisions and Inclusive Education Funding.
We also offer Telehealth assessments so anyone in Australia can access our services. If you prefer meeting in person, our Balwyn North Victoria office is open for sessions. We assess individuals aged 6 and up, making sure everyone is included.
To ensure you receive a high quality assessment we go beyond using standard tools. This means we may use the following:

Undertaking a psychological assessment can sound daunting. We aim to make the assessment process as simple and transparent as possible.
Here’s exactly what goes down.
You meet with the psychologist usually via telehealth to discuss presenting concerns. The Psychologist will then gather developmental history to inform what assessment is required. The intake is typically completed over one session.
The assessment sessions are conducted. Cognitive, Educational, ADHD and Autism assessments typically take an additional two to four sessions to complete. These typically will need to occur in person unless it is deemed appropriate for the assessment to be conducted online.
All Questionnaires are all completed online.
On completion of the assessment a detailed report will be compiled outlining background and medical information, clinical observations throughout the assessment, results with interpretation from the psychologist and practical recommendations and strategies for the child, parents, schools or workplace.
The feedback session typically occurs via telehealth and the psychologist will explain the results of the assessment and communicate what they mean. The client will then email an electronic copy of the assessment report.
You may also request the psychologist correspond with your school or workplace in order to explain results and best support you going forwards. Additionally, follow up appointments are available to be made with clients in order to help them put in place appropriate strategies and recommendations from their report.
